Day Care Centre Gives movemanSKG Thumbs Up!

A day care centre in the heart of Nuneaton's Asian community has installed a movemanSKG Prestige wheelchair lift, which people with mobility problems use to access the building's first floor. Funded through charity work and donations, the unit ensures compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

Anmol Day Care Centre provides care and support three days a week to those aged over 55. It has more than 45 clients and offers activities such as morning exercises, yoga, walks, shopping and seaside trips, and temple visits. The centre performs an essential role in the community and recently spent £25,000 developing the first floor of its premises, which now boast a function hall, disabled toilets and storage space.

Anmol Day Care Centre needed a lift to allow the less able to reach these facilities and movemanSKG came highly recommended. Anju Nathwani, Centre Organiser, is delighted; "We approached three disabled lift manufacturers for a quote and movemanSKG's was the most competitive. Prestige took just four days to install and has a platform big enough to accommodate a wheelchair user plus a member of staff. Overall the unit meets and exceeds our requirements."

Prestige lifts 400kg up to 13m. It is freestanding and requires no wall or supporting structure, minimising building work and associated costs. Prestige is available in a variety of colours and finishes, making it ideal for use in public venues. Anmol Day Care Centre's unit sits flush with the floor in a shallow pit and features fire-resistant doors.

Anju continued; "Mr Rajendra Patel, our Chairperson, and the committee members are very happy with our new Prestige. It looks excellent and operates reliably. movemanSKG is courteous and professional. It understood our requirements perfectly, provided an outstanding service and demonstrated the lift thoroughly before handing it over."
