Specialist lift supplier, movemanSKG, has installed a Titan service lift at Guidance Navigation’s production facility in Leicester. Guidance Navigation manufactures high-performance navigation systems for the offshore oil and gas industry, and uses the lift to transport products from its ground floor workshop to a mezzanine floor for testing.
"Our new position reference system, RadaScan, aids the automatic positioning of vessels in marine applications, such as docking control," explains Keith Phillips, Business Development Manager at Guidance Navigation. "It requires open space for testing, so we built a mezzanine floor above our workshop. movemanSKG’s Titan means we can move RadaScan units safely between levels, reducing manual handling requirements."
Guidance Navigation’s Titan service lift travels nearly three metres between the two floors. Its spacious platform and 1000kg load capacity mean it easily accommodates RadaScan, which is over a metre in diameter and weighs 120kg. Bi-parting doors allow easy access and simple push-button controls, mounted within a carriage console and in the doorframes at each floor, facilitate swift, user-friendly operation.
Keith continued; "Regular use subjects our new service lift to a strenuous workload, yet it performs reliably. It fits nicely into our building, utilising space efficiently. Titan’s robustness and durability make it ideal for a workshop environment. movemanSKG’s team completed the installation to a tight schedule, enabling us to get our testing facility operational quickly."
Titan travels up to 9000mm and is suitable for hardwearing, industrial applications. It is a self-contained unit and does not require a load bearing wall or separate area for the drive and motor assemblies. Various platform sizes and door options are available, making Titan configurable to suit a wide range of goods only applications and building designs.
