Apetito’s Goods Lift Moves Heavy Loads

movemanSKG has installed a heavy-duty Titan goods lift at apetito ltd’s manufacturing plant in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. apetito is a global company that supplies quality frozen food and catering solutions. It has over 8,000 employees and boasts an impressive ten year track record in growth and sales.

apetito’s main site at Trowbridge recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment, which includes a two storey dispensary. Here, Titan transports freshly prepared food mixtures to an upstairs storage area, which distributes them to other production departments when required.

Titan lift helps the factory make over one million frozen meals every week! Moving the heavy tubs of food mixtures to the upper level storage area would be almost impossible without the lift.

Chris Page, Key Operative at apetito’s Trowbridge facility, explains: "Employees should not carry out excessive manual handling at work. apetito’s Titan travels nearly five metres and carries loads of up to 1000kg. It features a robust steel barrier around the base of the platform, which helps operators to avoid damaging the lift when loading goods on heavy trolleys or pallets.

The unit has bi-parting fire resistant doors on both landings, and a large 1500mm x 2000mm platform. User friendly controls mean workers can operate the lift with minimal training.
