Goods Lift Withstands the Rigors of Shop Life

movemanSKG has supplied a Titan goods lift to the construction arm of the Elliott Thomas Group, which also provides logistics, carpentry, hoisting and masonry services. It was fitting out a £900,000 shop and upstairs stockroom, offices and kitchen facilities in Hackney for its client, Aquascutum, one of Britain’s leading fashion brands.

Aquascutum offers luxurious men’s and women’s clothes and needed the unit to move heavy stock, such as clothes rails and packing cases, between levels safely without the risk of staff sustaining strain injuries, known as musculoskeletal disorders.

Aquascutum’s new Titan goods lift from movemanSKG lift travels approximately 3500mm and lifts up to 1000kg in the new 800 sq ft retail outlet. Used regularly to replenish the shop floor, it features a 1500 x 2500mm platform that is big enough to accommodate palletised loads.

Titan is a freestanding goods lift, which was one of the main reasons it was chosen for Aquascutum. “Because Titan has its own self-contained shaft this made it easy to install, all we had to do was cut a space in the first floor and movemanSKG’s installation team did the rest,” continued Crossinggum. “If we had to build our own drywall lift shaft this would have required additional time and resources, so Titan saved us a considerable amount of time and money too, allowing us to divert resources to the areas that needed it most.”

Titan is made from heavy-duty steel panels, which provide exceptional strength and stability. It features integrated lifting gear, removing the need for an unsightly machine room, and a variety of door styles. These include single, double or powered and are available in single, through or adjacent entry configurations.
