Cotswold Motor Group Invests in movemanSKG’s Titan Goods Lift

The Cotswold Motor Group, one of the countries leading BMW approved bodyshops, recently contracted movemanSKG to install a heavy-duty Titan goods lift at its body shop and parts centre in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Used to transport heavy car components from ground level to a mezzanine floor for storage, the lift reduces manual handling requirements and makes for a safe, productive working environment.

The body shop and parts centre in Tewkesbury serves the BMW Group’s Cheltenham, Gloucester and Hereford dealerships. It maintains and services customers’ vehicles, and stocks a comprehensive range of genuine BMW components. Opened in January, the body shop incorporates the latest automotive servicing equipment and offers unparalleled levels of expertise.

The Cotswold Group’s Titan travels nearly four metres between floors, and carries loads of 1000kg. This enables it to lift heavy palletised goods plus an attendant. Double doors on each landing facilitate swift, easy access, and latch in the open position to simplify loading and unloading. Daily use subjects the lift to a strenuous workload, yet it performs reliably.

Paul Bonner, Manager at the Tewkesbury site, is impressed; "movemanSKG’s Titan means we can get parts to where they are needed quickly and efficiently. It also helps us comply with the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 and reduces the risk of workers sustaining strain injuries. In a facility as busy as ours, a goods lift is an essential requirement. movemanSKG provided a competitive quote, and quickly came up with a design that met our requirements."

movemanSKG’s Titan is ideal for industrial applications, such as shops, factories and warehouses. A freestanding unit, it requires no wall or supporting structure, and fits between existing floors to utilise space. Titan is available with powered or fire-rated doors, and comes with two inclusive service visits in the first year of ownership.
