Cardiff Leisure Centre Gets Star Treatment From movemanSKG!

The Star leisure centre in Splott, Cardiff, closed in August 2005 to allow enough time for its most dramatic refurbishment in 25 years.

Set to officially reopen this month, the centre, along with its vast amount of facilities and services will now incorporate Splott library, a new gym and a disabled lift supplied and installed by movemanSKG.

movemanSKG, the specialist lift company, were happy to provide the product that specifically met Project Manager, Tony Wadden's brief. He remarked that the glazed Prestige "was exactly what he wanted".

Complete with a shaft, this platform lift is a totally self-contained unit, therefore no wall or supporting structure is required. The lift is lit as standard and the doors are self-closing.

Safe, reliable and comfortable, the Prestige is aesthetically pleasing, contemporary looking and is the main focal point of the council owned building's newly refurbished reception area.

Star leisure centre Manager, Christina McMullen stated, "the children that visit the centre are so impressed by its look and size that they refer to it as the glass elevator from the Charlie & the Chocolate Factory book!"

Christina also went on to say that the movemanSKG team offered, "great service and were extremely quick in the installation of the lift".

Thanks to movemanSKG, experts in elevation, the Star can better meet the needs of all its visitors.
